One Scotland Gazetteer data is integrated within many local authority departments including planning, building standards, environmental planning, transportation and education; giving these departments access to a single definitive and up to date address list.

All Scottish public sector organisations are entitled to use the Gazetteer and a programme has been underway over the last 18 months to migrate from other sources of addressing to it.

On a national scale, a number of organisations are already using the Gazetteer within their systems. These include:

• Scottish Citizens Account
• ePlanning Online Applications and Appeals
• ePlanning Online Local Development Plans
• Energy Savings Trust
• North Lanarkshire Council
